This is a book I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek of, and the Dutchers have visited the trust – they are like hero’s to me 😉 a definite read, even if you are not wolfish, once you’ve read this, you will be.
One of the great things about being a writer is that you come across fascinating stories that are better than fiction. One of these stories is Wolves at Our Door by Jim and Jamie Dutcher. These naturalists put all their efforts into restoring gray wolves to the Sawtooth region of Idaho. They tell the story of the Sawtooth pack, living beside the pack on the edge of the wilderness.
The Dutchers began socializing with the wolves when they were pups. The pack is a complex society with an Alpha male and an Alpha female, along with lower ranking wolves. The wolves hunt together, sharing their kills, and they also share in raising and training the pups.
